The
first trip in 2004 brought me to Boston and Philadelphia. In the morning
I was going to Vienna airport. After check-in at the
Senator - Star Alliance Gold Counter I had time for a coffee in the
lounge. Boarding for flight LH 3543 was at 06.30am at gate C59.
Aircraft was an Airbus A321-131 D-AIRX. With a delay of aprox. 1 hour
we took off twoards Frankfurt at runway 11. In fact of the
delay in Vienna I was very short on time in Frankfurt to catch my
connecting flight to Boston. Landing in Frankfurt was at runway 25R.
I made my way straight up to gate A63. This time our aircraft was
a Boeing 747-430(M) D-ABTH in star c/s. Takeoff was aprox.
at 10.30am to our 8 hours flight to Boston. At 12.35am local time
- 6.35pm. MEZ we finally landed in Boston at runway 22L.
After customs I realised the my luggage was still in Frankfurt. I
took a taxi to may hotel.

Unfortunately the weather in Boston was very
bad, sometimes raining and the temperature was at 15 degrees. But
I made a short
walk throught a nice park and along the Charles River. Finally the
weather was better the next morning, so I started with my
sightseeing walk through Boston. You can have a very good view over
Boston on top of the Prudential Tower, then I continued
twoards the harbour, with an marevlous view to the Boston skyline.
Along the freedom trail - this is a red line through the city
center - I continued my walk. Then I took the metro to Cambridge where
2 famous universities are located - Havard
and the
MIT. In the evening I made some pictures from Boston at night at the
observation deck at the Prudential tower. The next
morning the weather was very bad again. It started snowing and raining,
so I could not walk throught the city again. I decided
to watch a movie in a cinema.

N424FJ. The flight was operated by Atlantic Coast
Airlines/Delta Connection. Takeoff was at 1.30pm. at runway 09, the
flight time was 1:15 hours. We were landing at
Philadelphia at runway 35. Then I took the train into the city and
finally to my hotel.
In the evening I made a short walk through the streets around the
hotel Club Qurters in Chestnut Street. The next morning I
started my sightseeing tour with a walk to Delaware River, then to
Liberty Bell Pavilion where the freedom bell is located.
Next stop was at Indepence Hall. At the last day of my trip i visited
City Hall and finally the Phildelphia Museum of Art.

My visit in Boston and Philadelphia ends at
March 12. I took the train to the airport, where check-in started
at aprox 2.00pm.
The I had a lot of time spending in the US Airways lounge, spotting
the planes on the apron. At 5.00pm. boarding for flight
LH 427 started at gate A15. The aircraft was an Airbus A330-223 D-AIMB
which was initial delivered to Swissair as HB-IQM.
So I had the the rare opportunity of IFE on LH economy class. Takeoff
was at 6.00pm. at runway 27L, the flight time to Frankfurt
was aprox. 8 hours. We landed in Frankfurt at runway 25R the next
morning.
